Your pool filter is responsible for removing fine particles from the water, and the condition of the filter media plays an important role in how effectively it does that job.
Over time, filter sand can become less effective. Persistent cloudy water, deteriorating filtration performance or recurring water-quality problems are often signs that the filter needs attention.
However, we do not recommend changing filter sand simply because a certain amount of time has passed. Before suggesting a sand change, we consider how the filter is performing, as well as the condition of the water, circulation and the entire pool system.
Where replacement is required, the old sand is removed and replaced with new sand before the filter is returned to operation and checked.
The objective is not simply to put new sand into the filter. It is to restore effective filtration.
